OPTIVE® GEL DROPS have a unique dual-action formula that delivers long lasting relief from dry eye symptoms with similar osmoprotectant benefits to OPTIVE FUSION™.^1-3

High viscosity OPTIVE® GEL DROPS are a drop formula with a high concentration of CMC (1%), that spreads thinly across the eye to protect against further irritation. ^4,5

OPTIVE® GEL DROPS can be combined with the use of the OPTIVE® Family of products.^3,6

Caking and blurring of vision are drawbacks of highly viscous agents such as ointments. Less viscous agents such as OPTIVE® GEL DROPS help to minimise these problems and are fully compatible with contact lens use.⁴

OPTIVE® GEL DROPS, for add on treatment with the following active ingredients and benefits thereof:

Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) Based Tears: ^7-9

• Provides comfort and lubrication
• Long retention time

Osmoprotection Based Tears: ^10-12

• Hydration of the epithelial cells
• Protects against extra salty tears
• Restores water balance

High Viscosity Based Tears: ^3,6

• Longer lasting comfort
• Contact lens compatiable
• OPTIVE® Family compatiable

Place one or two drops of OPTIVE® GEL DROPS in the affected eye(s) as needed.

Step 1

Tilt your head back, look upwards, and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small gap.

Step 2

Hold the bottle upside down and allow each drop to fall into the eye. Avoid touching the surface of the eyeball or the eyelids with the applicator tip. Use one or two drops per eye as needed.

Step 3

Close the eye for two or three seconds to help spread OPTIVE® GEL DROPS evenly over the surface of the eye.

OPTIVE® GEL DROPS are supplied in plastic bottles containing 10ml.

Each ml contains:

• Sodium carboxymethylcellulose 1 %
• Glycerine 0,9 %
• PURITE® 0,01 %

• Do not use if allergic to any of the ingredients
• Do not swallow solution
• To avoid contamination or possible eye injury, do not touch bottle tip on any surface, and avoid direct contact with the eye
• Close the bottle tightly immediately after use
• Discard any remaining solution 3 months after opening
• Product may cause transient blurring of vision
• Do not use after expiry date marked on the product
• Keep out of the reach of children
• Store at room temperature
• Do not use the bottle if the tamper-proof seal on the bottle neck is broken before you first use it
• Do not use if solution changes colour
• Allow 15 minutes between the administrations of other ophthalmic products

OPTIVE® Lubricant Eye Drops and OPTIVE® Unit Dose Lubricant Eye Drops. Contains carboxymethylcellulose sodium 5 mg/ml and glycerine 9 mg/ml.
